An Insight to Fairfax eCommerceFairfax eCommerce was formed in 2006 when entrepreneurial designer Joshua Fairfax and talented software engineer Jason den Dulk, joined forces. The two founders shared and have delivered upon a vision to help their clients succeed in business by capitalising on the ever-increasing opportunities created by e-commerce technology. The company’s philosophy is to simplify the process for businesses to “go online”, and to make online retailing / ecommerce more accessible for businesses on a tight budget. All our websites are built with the principles of simplifying the end-user’s online buying experience, expediting the sales process and driving down the average cost of sales for the vendor. Our ecommerce solutions simplify the sales process for the vendor whereby the end user does all the selling work themselves. Fairfax eCommerce has broad experience in developing promotional websites, online stores, billing and booking systems, membership-based websites and custom e-commerce solutions for businesses of all sizes, in numerous industries. Recognising that every company is unique, Fairfax eCommerce explores each client’s e-commerce requirements in the context of its short and long-term business plans and objectives. This methodology serves to ensure that the proposed e-commerce solution addresses the client’s current requirements, uncovers as many unforeseen risks and opportunities as possible, while catering for future growth and scalability. Communication and service is critical in any business relationship and Fairfax eCommerce prides itself on its process of keeping clients informed throughout the solution design, build and implementation phases. Joshua Fairfax BDes — Chief Executive Officer/Marketing DirectorJoshua Fairfax’s passion for design began decades before he received his formal design qualification. From an early age, Josh designed birthday cards and invitations, and loved art in all its forms. He later became interested in technically complex systems, completing a trade qualification in aircraft maintenance engineering and working in Qantas’ engineering department for 6 years. In 1999, Josh chose to return to his childhood passion and pursue a career in graphic design, undertaking formal studies: a Bachelor of Design in Graphic Design from Sydney Graphics College. Around this time, the potential of the Internet began to emerge. Josh identified an opportunity to use technology to streamline the business processes of his then employer, Eric's Removals – and so designed and built his first e-commerce website with an online quoting system. With a desire to fully harness the capabilities of e-commerce, Josh partnered with an experienced software engineer and formed Fairfax eCommerce in 2006. Josh now brings to each client engagement a powerful combination of skills – his background in traditional graphic design, over a decade of web design experience, in-depth technical knowledge of, and experience with e-commerce systems, and his entrepreneurial flair. His life and work experiences, which amongst others include running a cocktail bar, heading a punk rock band, delivering the mail for Australia Post and working as a ski instructor in Switzerland, have also equipped Josh with a broad and practical perspective on global business. He is able draw on his wealth of experience to identify how your business can best exploit technology and e-commerce. Jason Den Dulk BSc.
